RALEIGH, N.C. . . . North State Bank (the “Bank”) promoted Zachary “Zach” Dechant to relationship banking manager for its Wilmington office, announced Sabrina Sells, senior vice president and Wilmington market president.

Dechant will oversee day-to-day operations of the Wilmington office and grow both existing and new customer relationships.

“Zach has been a go-getter since joining our team as a teller several years ago,” shared Sells. “He was new to banking then, but in the years since, he’s intentionally pursued every opportunity to learn, grow and serve. He’s a great banker and team member. I think he’ll be an exceptional leader in this new role.”

Growing up in Castle Rock, Colorado, Dechant came to North State Bank after serving in the United States Army for eight years and the Colorado Air National Guard for two years in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal group. He is a graduate of Colorado State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in business administration.

“After serving in the Armed Forces, I wanted a career I would be equally as passionate about and I have found that in banking, especially at North State,” commented Dechant. “Every day and every customer relationship is different. I enjoy the nuances and look forward to building on what I’ve learned in past positions in this new role.”
